Orange County School Board Ad Valorem Millage
Orange County Public Schools · 1 mill renewal, 2027–2031
United Teachers of Florida (UTF) proudly endorses the Orange County School Board Ad Valorem Millage Referendum appearing on the November 3, 2026 ballot. The referendum would continue the district’s existing one-mill property tax for four additional years, beginning July 1, 2027 and ending June 30, 2031. Importantly, this measure is a continuation of the current voter-approved millage, not a new tax or tax increase. Funding will support essential operating needs, including compensation for teachers and educational support employees, preservation of academic programs, and arts, athletics, and student activities. The resolution projects that the renewed millage will generate approximately $261 million annually to support Orange County schools. Funds will also be shared proportionately with charter schools as legally required, with annual reporting to taxpayers regarding the use of the revenue. UTF supports this referendum because maintaining competitive educator compensation and strong academic and student programs is essential to retaining high-quality teachers and providing Orange County students with excellent educational opportunities.
