Duval County School District Ad Valorem Millage
Duval County Public Schools · 1 mill renewal, 2027–2031
United Teachers of Florida (UTF) proudly endorses the Duval County School District Ad Valorem Millage Referendum appearing on the November 3, 2026 ballot. The referendum would continue the district’s existing one-mill property tax for four additional years, beginning July 1, 2027 and ending June 30, 2031. Funding will support essential operating expenses, including competitive compensation for teachers, security personnel, and support staff, helping Duval County recruit and retain highly qualified educators. The referendum will also help preserve academic programs and protect arts, athletics, and student activities throughout the district. Funds generated by the millage will be shared proportionately with public charter schools based on student enrollment, as required by law. The measure also provides for annual reporting and continued citizen oversight to ensure appropriate use and fiscal stewardship of the funds. UTF supports this referendum because investing in educators, school personnel, and strong academic and extracurricular programs is essential to maintaining high-quality educational opportunities for Duval County students.
